A huge thanks for taking the time to visit our website. Tor Lea Training is a provider of the highest quality first aid and safety training and we are extremely proud of the services we provide.
Our business has been built on developing great relationships with our clients and offering a personalised and cost effective service. We are proud to be a training centre for industry leading awarding body ITC First and, alongside the courses we deliver from our Peak District training base, we can run courses in any location both in the UK and overseas.
We cater for all experience levels and requirements and, although we hope the information on the website answers many of your questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch to discuss your particular needs.
Tor Lea Training was founded by the husband and wife team of Paul and Cal Lewis who, alongside careers in the outdoor and expedition industry, founded Tor Lea Training as a premium quality training business to run alongside their mountain guiding business Peak Mountaineering.
Paul and Cal are both qualified teachers and have been keen and active climbers and adventurers for several decades. Over the years they have seen the importance of being prepared for accidents and emergencies and relish being able to pass on life saving skills to others.
Paul still regularly delivers courses and Cal takes the lead admin role as office manager. She’ll be your main port of call when booking a course. We are also helped in the admin department by Brian and Emma who work on our marketing and accounts. We know the quality of our behind the scenes service is very important and we try to make both the booking process and general administration as easy and efficient as possible.
Our office is situated in the picturesque Peak District National Park village of Castleton. Castleton is also the village where we deliver many of our courses and, with good transport links and accommodation options to suit all budgets, it makes a great training destination. Our classroom base is at the Hollowford Centre near the centre of the village and this premier outdoor centre provides a fantastic training environment although we also have a network of other venues around the country that we use on a regular basis.
The quality of the trainers is the lifeblood of any first aid and safety training business and we have always ensured that Tor Lea Training’s associate team are among the best in the industry. They are always fully qualified, very experienced and, crucially, personally known to us.
We also try to incorporate our personal values into our business. You won't be placed on a course that isn't suitable for your needs. We keep costs transparent and we are passionate about protecting the environment. We also try to use our business as a force for good through initiatives like our annual litter collection events and trainee instructor support programmes. Above all else, we try to be the best ambassadors we can.
So, we really hope you'll feel we are the right company for your training and we look forward to hearing from you soon. Whether a standard or bespoke course – it is our privilege to help.
